RTA - Real Time Architecture

RTAPLS is based essentially on Real Time Architecture (RTA), which is a software platform for developing distributed, redundant real time systems.

The real time ability of RTA is ensured first and foremost through the performance of the Real Time Database and the Interprocess Communication. Reaction times in the millisecond range can thus be realized without any problem.

The Real Time Database can be operated synchronically with a relational database and is capable, acting like a cache, of accelerating a relational database by a factor of 100. With this feature the database technology with all its advantages can also be used for applications that up to now were based on proprietary mechanisms.

RTA supports redundant configurations by doubling the server and also supports heterogeneous configurations (e.g., VMS-Server or UNIX-Server, Microsoft Clients).

RTA is integrated as a software tool in RTAPLS and supports the development of project-specific applications that integrate themselves seamlessly into the RTAPLS architecture.
